Her Best Friend.

It was a bright sunny morning. She was up early but felt more lazy than usual. By the time she was ready to leave it was past 9:30 pm already. She hurried so that she wouldn't be late to office.

The car moved swiftly. Yet, she managed to catch a glimpse of him. He stood there, his bag slung the usual way over his shoulder, wearing a peach colored formal shirt and black trousers. He hadn't changed much, for he still maintained the french beard she was so fond off.

Must be waiting for a cab or a car to go to office. She thought to herself, "should I slow down?" But then decided not to. Perhaps he saw her but pretended to ignore or maybe he hadn't really noticed.

It is so hard to believe that they have known each other for almost a decade now. Yet it felt just like yesterday, they used to be best of friends. Nothing could separate them. They had shared their happy and sad moments together always - his crushes, breakups, her tantrums and many more things.Though they went on to pursue different fields from different colleges, they did have common friends who understood them well.

But over a year ago life changed. Their small arguments turned into big issues. Feelings changed and then, everything changed. They avoided each other. Took different routes. And from then on everything fell apart.

Maybe he had moved on and made new friends. She didn't know. She didn't want to know. She didn't look behind, she kept driving and finally reached office.

The day seemed like a drag but finally ended at 8 o' clock. On her way back home, her eyes did search for him. It felt wrong but her heart couldn't let go. Perhaps she will never let go.

Only time will tell, as time did test.
